Everyone has gotten a rose for Valentine’s day before. But is the true meaning or significance of the roses and rose colors understood? Roses and their colors all share lineage from Victorian times. Where Roses would be collected for bouquets from suitors to their bride. The roses, bouquet and believed meanings have made the transition year to year to modern times.
The most popular rose used with or as gifts is the red rose. The red rose symbolizes love. If you give someone a red rose for Valentine’s day, you are in essence saying, “I love you.”
The red rose is also known to represent respect and courage.
The white rose is symoblic of a few different things but are all connected. The white rose symbolizes a heavenly connection. A white rose represents purity and innocence. Humility and reverence. It’s also known to represent a level of privacy, secrecy if you will.
And finally, a white rose suggests “I am worthy of you.” Meaning you are telling the person you give the rose to that you are fit to love them. And will treat them right.
Two beautiful roses with a great array of meanings. But when you put the red rose together with a white rose, All the meanings of the roses come together and represent unity.
A white rose with red petal tips is also said to represent unity.
So for valentine’s day, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to gather a bouquet of roses of white and red color and give them to your loved one. Two hearts as one. Unity.
And if you really want to melt that special someone’s heart. Buy 11 real roses and 1 artificial red rose. Create a valentine’s day bouquet and give them to your loved one. Tell them you will love them until the last rose dies.
It will do wonders for their heart… and yours.






It’s funny because people have been under the impression for years that it’s almost imperative to recieve red roses on Valentines day and if you don’t it’s a huge disappointment. Really love the idea of the red and white combo which equals unity – food for thought…
